What are my options besides getting a permanent tattoo?
Amanda asked:
I want to express myself in the form of a tattoo at times, but because they are so definate, I cannot commit. I was wondering what kinds of options I have besides going under the needle.
I’m somewhat familiar with Henna, but is there anything else besides that or those cheap quarter machine temp tattoos. I want something that sort of lasts a while so I can enjoy it without it dissappearing right away.
If henna is my only choice, how long does it usually last? Can I keep applying it? Is there a way to make it last longer?

If another option is given, can you give a little background on them, and how long they last. thanks

airbrush tattoos
You can get Airbrush which last a little longer. But those are your only alternatives. The last about 1-2 weeks. They last longer if you avoid scrubbing them and keep it away from lotions, sunblock, etc.
Go to the dollar store stock up on fake temporary tattoos. baby oil removes them…Koots to you.. for trying fake first. I have lots of ink I wouldn’t change any of mine.
henna is the best option; it lasts about a week or two.
you can keep applying it because it’s vegetal and it wont hurt your skin
there are some high quality temp tattoos that you can try…..ask someone at the tattoo parlor that you are thinking of getting the work done I am sure that they can recommend a place where you can get them…
I have tattoos and had some of them for over twenty years! If I had to do it over, I wouldn’t have any tattoos! I’m still proud of what my first tattoo is of, (not going to mention the others!), but it is a forever thing that I cannot do away with! I would never reccommend to a younger person to get a tattoo! Don’t do it and keep your beautiful skin just the way God made it!!!! Good luck!
Henna is an awesome option. See if there is an Indian woman in your area that is doing wedding hennas. She will be able to make whatever you want. They are very intricate and beautiful. They last 2-3 weeks and if you want to freshen it before it is gone because you liked the design well enough to keep it for a couple of rounds…it is completely painless!
the only thing i could think of is henna,I’m pretty sure it lasts about 2-3 weeks 4 at the most, i don’t think there is any way to make it last longer unless maybe you don’t wet/wash it as much
certain tattoo parlours actually do temporary tatts. but they are the same price and hurt just as much. they go through less layers of skin so they last like 6months……but i reckon if ur gonna go throgh the pain and tdhe price u may aswell get it done for real. lol im from australia so i dunno if they have temp tatts where ur from but im sure they would…just ask around or ask at a tatt parlour what they suggest. good luck xx
in highschool I used to draw up and down my legs with perm. marker….I guess it’s like airbrushing really, but it was a great deal of fun to actually draw it myself.
also keep in mind that clothing, hair, and make up are a great form of self expression that are not going to last forever like tattoos but are so much fun.
Also check out the internet, some companies make like the cheap quarter machine tattoos only custom designs so they look more real and more like your own.
Take care
