What effect will pregnancy have on a tattoo on the lower abdomen?
Albtraum asked:
My cousin just found out she’s pregnant, but she’s worried because when her best friend died, she got a tattoo on her lower abdomen in commemoration of her. She’s worried that when the baby grows and she’s nine months pregnant, if the tattoo will be damaged. Also, will the ink hurt the baby?

A pre-existing tattoo will not harm the baby at all but there’s no telling what it will look like during or after the pregnancy - sorry!
i dont think so the tattoo will stretch and will look ugly untill the baby is born
the ink has no affest on the baby.
I have a tattoo on my hip and I was pregnant with a 9lb 3oz baby… So yes, it kinda ruined it. I got stretchmarks through it. I will get it fixed after ive had another bub, but until then im stuck with an ugly tattoo!! But its worth it!
The ink won’t hurt the baby.
She might get stretch marks through the tattoo, that’s about the peak of it getting ‘damaged’. It might appear bigger when she is 9 months pregnant but skin will return to normal–plus or minus stretch marks.
it won’t affect the baby, but it will stretch. my friend had a tattoo on her lower abdomen and after she had her baby, it looked pretty bad! it was stretched out and had stretch marks in it. it looked like it had melted or something. you could tell where her skin had stretched because of her tattoo.
It’s not going to hurt the baby but the baby is going to hurt it. It is going to stretch huge then shrivel up… not to be mean, but it is going to look funny!!
well the tattoo will be very stretched out ( depends on how big her stomach gets, but will still get stretched out)
once you get a tattoo the ink gets into your bloodstream and your blood flows into the baby to keep him/her alive……. but my sister and sister in law all had tattoos ( not on the lower abdoman) and their babys came out Healthy…… she will just have to ask her doctor…..
well for a while if it is a dragonfly it will become a pterodactyl .
